Finance ministry may consider VAT abolishment for gold
MOSCOW, Jul 18 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Finance Ministry is ready to consider abolishing value-added tax (VAT) on investment gold, Minister Anton Siluanov said Tuesday at the State Duma, the parliament’s lower house.
Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the State Duma’s financial market committee, said that the budget currently receives around 90 million rubles annually due to VAT on gold. “Under specialists’ estimates, if we abolish VAT on gold, the budget can receive up to 2 billion rubles additionally within some time,” he said.
Kazakhstan and Belarus have already abolished VAT on gold, he added.
